Cruise to Continuing Education
Well, fortunately, I won’t have to go that route ever again. I discovered Land Surveyors Workshop. They are offering a Cruise on the Carnival Glory February 24 – March 3, 2007. You can earn up to 24 hours of CEU credit. Take as much, or as little as you wish.
This 7-day cruise now includes stops at FOUR of the world’s most fun and fascinating destinations: the Bahamas, Cozumel, Belize and Costa Maya. The cost is reasonable. The lowest price, an inside cabin for 2 (one taking the workshop, the other not) is only $1798.00 complete. No additional port charges, taxes, or CEU fees. As Land Surveyors Workshop says on their website:
LSW has secured the best rates for this cruise by booking our rooms more than one year in advance! We also offer our continuing education courses at a significantly reduced cost. In fact, you will be able to choose 24 hours of classes from a selection of more than 36 hours, but you’ll pay less than our usual fee for 16 hours. We anticipate that participants will arrange their schedule to obtain between 16-24 hours of credit. Of course, you can choose to take more or less. That’s entirely up to you! The prices include your continuing education, cruise stateroom, onboard dining and entertainment, AND ALL taxes and port fees.
Oceanview suites, balcony’s, and even penthouse suites are available. Check out the site and choose your cabin Take your wife and have a party. Make the task of continuing education fun. You may want to ask your tax advisor about whether this qualifies as a business expense, but I think it would be for the workshop participants portion.
Compare this cost with the cost I quoted for the procrastinators program I am going to this year. $1008.00 plus hotel and travel of 1200 miles. Not much more for the cruise, and a lot more fun. I talked with them on Friday, signed up today and will be calling back on Monday to finalize reservations.
