Tax Time Cometh
Yes, tax time is upon us, and it’s time to pull all of the receipts out of the shoebox, and try to make some kind of sense out of the mess we have created.
We only have 45 days, more or less, to untangle the web we took a year to weave. Alright, metaphors aren’t going to help us, but I believe I have found the tool that will.
I discovered and recently ordered a product called the “Neatreceipts Scanalizer”. yes, i already have a scanner, but it can’t do what this one can. The software reads the key information from the receipt, then sorts it by date, vendor, or category. All the data is presented in spreadsheet format for use as you wish. It will also read and catalog business cards.
The Neatreceipts Scanalizer lists for $229.95 and is available from their website. I suggest you read about it at Neatreceipts website, but order it from Amazon. An excellent review is also available at ZDNet. If you use the link below, you can purchase it for $199.95 with a $20.00 rebate and free shipping.
In the interest of full disclosure, you should know that I earn a small amount if you buy from the Amazon link. If you wish to purchase from Amazon, without me getting a portion, simply go to Amazon.com and search for neatreceipts. It’s your choice.
