Got Graph Paper?
Have you ever had need for a sheet of graph paper to plot a rough sketch for field work? Have your children told you at 11:00 at night that they need to plot some math functions and need some log paper, or some log-log paper?
Well you might be able to find the paper at Wal-Mart, for your simple 10 squares/inch graph paper, but ther is no chance of finding the specialized paper your children need.
Fortunately, there is a solution. A program using JavaScript will plot any customized graph that you or anyone else might think of and produce it in only the quantities and the sizes you need. You can plot 8.5 x 11, 11 x 17, A4, or A3 sheets in square, axonometric perspective, hexagonal, log, semi-log and even “174 paper” used by the UK Government for as the website states “stuff, I guess”
Also included is “writing and penmanship paper”, lined paper, music notation staves, and accounting ledger paper. Not everything in the package is directly related to land surveying, but we are not so myopic as not to see uses for many of these graphs and papers.
All are printed as pdf files, and are printed on your ink-jet or laser printer. Visit the site of incompetech.com and check it out. Better yet, make a pdf file of those graphs you presently use or are likely to need and keep them on your hard drive. Anything this good may not be free forever.
