Accurate Computer Time

Your computer time as shown in the system tray, as set manually by you is the time that is attached to any document that is sent by, or filed on the computer.

Have you ever been embarrassed by having an email go out with the wrong time or date because it had not been properly set, or not set at all. Do you have a program that manually calls one of the precise clock sites for a time reset. Do you forget to make that call after a power failure? What about your laptop? Is the internal clock accurate after being set?

If you have doubts about accurate time on your computer, download Time Sync from Karen’s Power Tools. Power Sync t can synchronize your computer’s clock to one of the ultra-precise time servers available on the Internet. The synchronization can be performed on demand, or automatically according to a schedule you define.

I set mine set to connect to ntp-s1.cise.ufl.edu(128 227 205 3) and to syncronize upon system boot, and every 5 hours thereafter. I have the same setting on all computers, some are left on 24/7.
